To ensure that resources from the NAA PAC are allocated effectively, we have established a set of criteria to evaluate potential candidates for support. The criteria is designed to identify individuals who demonstrate a strong understanding and support for the auction industry, have a proven track record of supporting pro-business policies, and align with the NAA’s legislative priorities.
We will consider contributions to candidates from all political parties, provided they meet our established criteria. Party affiliation will not be a determining factor in the selection process.
The number of candidates we support will be determined by our available budget and the potential impact of each contribution. We will prioritize candidates based on their ability to positively influence the industry and who demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering a supportive political climate for auction professionals.
The NAA PAC evaluates contribution requests based on the following guidelines:
- Understanding and Support for the Auction Industry: Candidates must demonstrate a clear understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing auctioneers and actively support the industry’s interests.
- Alignment with NAA Policy Positions: Candidates up for reelection must have a proven track record of supporting policies that benefit auction houses and other small businesses.
- Commitment to Small Business: Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting small businesses, as auctioneers are predominantly small business owners. This includes advocating for policies that reduce regulatory burdens, improve access to capital, and promote entrepreneurship.
- Opposition to Harmful Legislation: Candidates should have a history of opposing legislation that could have or has negatively impacted the auction industry.
