What is a PAC?
PAC stands for Political Action Committee. It’s a type of organization that is formed to raise money and spend it to influence elections. PACs can be formed by individuals, corporations, labor unions, trade associations, or other groups. They are regulated by the Federal Election Commission (FEC). PACs can contribute directly to candidates’ campaigns, or they can spend money on independent expenditures to support or oppose candidates.
What type of PAC is the NAA PAC?
The NAA PAC is a trade association PAC. This type of PAC is formed by trade associations or other professional organizations. These PACs are designed to represent the interests of their members and advocate for policies that benefit their industry or profession.
Who can give to the PAC?
Only NAA members who are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents can contribute to the NAA PAC. Contributions from members outside the U.S. cannot be accepted. NAA PAC can only accept contributions from individuals, not from charities or corporations.
How is the PAC Funded?
The NAA PAC is 100% funded by individual NAA members. Contributions are strictly voluntary. Members may refuse to contribute without reprisal. Any proposed contribution is merely a suggestion, and a member is free to contribute more or less than suggested.
Are contributions to the PAC tax-deductible?
Unlike gifts to the Foundation, contributions to the PAC are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes.
How much may an individual give to the PAC annually?
Contributions are limited to personal funds of $5,000 per person, not household, per calendar year. A husband and wife each have separate $5,000 limits, even if only one has an income.
Can NAA members play a role in determining which candidates the PAC supports?

Does the PAC endorse presidential candidates?
The NAA PAC focuses its efforts on congressional candidates. This means it does not support presidential candidates, as well as those running for state or local offices.
